Quad-bike helmet use a no-brainer
01-09-2010 | Not Specified
More than 100 people have died in quad-bike accidents in the past decade.
When you are aware of the risks involved from not wearing a helmet while on a quad bike, and the painful results that come from ignoring them, you can make informed choices to change.
Department of Labour research highlights that off-road vehicles, in particular tractors and ATVs, are a leading cause of death and injury on farms.
Quad bikes weigh several hundred kilograms, have a narrow wheelbase and a high centre of gravity.
This makes them inherently unstable.
If a bike tips over and lands on top of the driver, the chances of lifting it off are slim.
